My First Kit!

Today I’m excited to introduce to you my first kit with Lion Brand! The Fallon Cardigan is a true complement to the Winter season. With a combination of standard basic stitches and ribbed details along the shoulders and armholes, it was designed to keep you warm with a cozy flair. Inspired by the everyday wardrobe, you will reach for this cardigan repeatedly.

Disclosure: I only endorse things that I’ve personally used or come highly recommended by trusted peers. If you grab anything I mention using listed affiliate links, I may get a small commission at no extra cost to you.

The cardigan is crocheted from the bottom up in seven separate pieces and then seamed together, which makes it beginner friendly. Front pockets are optional, but it adds a complete look to the design. The Fallon Cardigan was designed to be oversized for a cropped and relaxed fit with up to 12”/ 30 cm of positive ease. Finished bust measures 38 (42, 45, 50, 55) (60, 62, 67, 70)” / 95, (105, 112.5, 125, 137.5) (150, 155, 167.5, 175) cm.

For this project, I used Wool Ease worsted in colorway Linen. This yarn is a wool/acrylic blend which makes it an excellent choice for everyday wear. Using worsted weight yarn, your project will work up quickly and ready to wear. Wool Ease has an amazing color palette, with a wide range of neutrals to choose from. I love working with this yarn because the stitch definition is beautiful, not to mention it can be machine washed and dried.

For alternatives and/or wool free options, I would consider the following yarns listed below. Although similar in yarn weight, remember to ALWAYS swatch!

You can wear your Fallon Cardigan anywhere. I have worn mine to work, on errands, and on date night already! That is how versatile this design is. Pair it with a midi dress and heels or with jeans, tee, and your favorite sneakers and you are off to a great start. The possibilities are endless.

Are you ready to make your own? The Fallon Cardigan is now available as a kit with Lion Brand or grab the PDF alone.

I can’t wait to see your amazing cardigans come to fruition! I'd love to see your progress as you work through your project. Don’t forget to tag me on Instagram/Facebook using #falloncardigan! Happy Crocheting! 😊
