  • Alternative: Approximately 109 yds / 100m of chunky weight (5) yarn for MC and 90 yds / 82m of chunky weight (5) yarn for CC

  • 11.5 mm hook

  • 10 dc x 5 rows = 4”/10cm in Cross DC (unblocked)

Pattern Notes

  • Pattern is worked seamlessly in one piece with join turned rows.

  • Beginning chains do not count as a stitch.

  • To adjust the width and length of the cowl, add more/less foundation stitches and/or crochet more/less rows. More/less yardage may be required.

Pattern

With MC, fsc 60, join with sl st to first fsc, turn. (60 fsc)

Rnd 1: Ch 2, sk first sc, *dc in next sc, working behind dc just made, dc in skipped sc, sk 1: rep from * to the end, join CC with sl st to first dc, turn. (60 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 2, sk first dc, *dc in next dc, working behind dc just made, dc in skipped dc, sk 1; rep from * to the end, join MC with sl st to first dc, turn.

Rnd 3: Ch 2, sk first dc, *dc in next dc, working behind dc just made, dc in skipped dc, sk 1; rep from * to the end, join CC with sl st to first dc, turn.

Repeat Rnds 2 and 3 six more times or until desired length ending on a Rnd 3 repeat. Do not change MC on last Rnd 3 repeat.

Last Rnd (RS): Ch 1, sl st in each dc around, join with a sl st to first sl st.

Finishing

Fasten off and weave in remaining ends.

Block if desired.
