Materials

  • Color A- Approx 265(395,530,660) yds of worsted weight yarn

  • Color B- Approx 265(395,530,660) yds of worsted weight yarn

  • Color C - Approx 215(245,275,305) yds of worsted weight yarn

    • Sample made with Premier Rodeo yarn

  • 5.00 mm hook

  • 4.50 mm hook

  • Scissors

  • Tape Measure

  • Yarn Needle


Terminology

  • ch - chain

  • blo - back loop only

  • sc - single crochet

  • hdc - half double crochet

  • fhdc - foundation half double crochet

  • sc2tog - single crochet two together

  • sl st - slip stitch

  • st - stitch  

    Gauge (5mm hook)

  • 15 hdc x 12 rows = 4’ x 4’ square

  • Ch 17. Hdc in the 3rd ch from hook and in each st across. Ch 2, turn. Hdc in each st across. Ch 2, turn. Rep from * for a total of 12 rows. Fasten off and measure.



Measurements (in inches) Measured Before Blocking

  • Sm - 17.5 inches long x 20 inches wide

  • Med - 18 inches long x 24 inches wide

  • Lg - 18.5 inches long x 28 inches wide

  • XL - 19 inches long  x 32 inches wide

Pattern Notes

  • Ch 2 does not count as stitch.

  • Pattern consists of instructions for 2 panels made with different colors and ribbing/edging/sleeves with a third contrasting color. Changing colors are completely optional.

  • The 2 panels are constructed and then seamed together. Sleeves are joined directly onto the body. Bottom ribbing is attached last.

  • Pattern is written for a size Small. Sizes Medium, Large, and X-Large are written in parentheses.

  • This pattern is written for as a slight cropped design that will fall right below belly button and/or on top of waist.  Feel free to adjust length accordingly to your own comfort level.

  • Measurements/yardage may differ due to yarn choice and/or tension.

Pattern - Body

(5.00 mm hook)


Color A (Front)

Fhdc 70 (84,198,112).  Ch 2, turn.


Row 1 - Hdc in the 1st st from hook and in each st across to the end. Ch 2, turn. 70(84,98,112)

Repeat Row 1 until piece measures 15.5(16,16.5,17) inches. Record the amount of rows to repeat for back panel.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Color B (Back)

Repeat steps as Color A.

Seam panels together at the sides using the mattress stitch with the right side of garment facing up or seam together using sc st. If sc method is used, seam panels together on the wrong side.

  • Leave  6(6 ½, 7, 7 ½,) inches open for the armhole.

  • Seam about 4-6 inches for shoulders. Here you can try on garment and adjust for best fit and comfort.


Adding Sleeves

Color A & C  (Repeat on each side)

Rejoin Color A where the side seam meets the lower part of the underarm.

Row 1- Sc in each st around the armhole. Join with sl st to top of 1st sc. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2- Sc in the 1st st and in each st around. Join Color C with sl st at the end of this row. Ch 2, turn.

Row 3 - Hdc in 1st st and in each st around the sleeve. Join with sl st to top of 1st hdc. Ch 2, turn.

Row 4-6 - Repeat Row 3.

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

Adding Neckline

Color C

Join Color C to any corner of the neckline. Ch 1.

Row 1- sc in the first st and in each st around.  Join with sl st to the top of 1st sc. Fasten off.

Adding Bottom Ribbing

(4.50 mm hook)

Color C

  • Ribbing should bring the extra 2 inches for final length.

Join Color C to the bottom of connected panels. Ch 1. Sc in the 1st st and in each st around. Join with sl st to top of 1st sc.

Ch 11.


Row 1- Sc in the 1st st from hook & each st across (10). Sc2tog in the next 2 sts from the bottom of panel. Turn.

Row 2 - Sc in the blo of each st to the end (10). Ch 1, turn.

Row 3 - Sc in blo of each st across. Sc2tog in the next 2 sts from bottom of panel. Turn.

Repeat Rows 2 & 3 until you’ve reached the beginning of ribbing.

Join the two ribbed ends together with sl sts on the wrong side of project.

Fasten off and weave in any remaining ends.
